In this post, we have written a general how-to blog regarding the water filter service or inline cartridge change. Before we dwell in to the process, it is essential to know when to service your water filter.

The general rule is to service the water filter once in a year (for a family with more than 4 members) or once in a 1.5 year (for a family with less than 4 members).

Generally, every (electric) water filter consists of 1 PP Spun Cartridge (Outer Candle) and other 3 Filters (Inner Candles): 1 Sediment Filter Inline, 1 Post-carbon Filter Inline, 1 Pre-carbon Filter Inline. So, in total there are 4 cartridges and all these needs to be replaced periodically.

Here's a detailed guide to servicing a water filter system that anyone can follow:

  1. Gather Supplies: Before starting, gather the necessary supplies, including replacement filter cartridges, wrench/spanner, a clean cloth or sponge, and a bucket for collecting water being disposed. (You can order the filter replacement kit from us via this link)

  2. Turn Off The System & Water Supply: Turn off the power supply to the water filter and turn off the water supply via the shut-off valve. This valve is typically located near the filter housing or along the water line leading to the filter.

  3. Remove Filter Housing: Use a wrench or filter spanner (if provided) to loosen and remove the filter housing. Be cautious as some water may still be trapped inside the housing.

  4. Replace Filter Cartridges: Carefully remove the old filter cartridges from the housing. Note the direction of flow indicated on each cartridge. Insert the new cartridges into the housing, ensuring they are properly aligned and seated.

  5. Clean Housing: While the filter cartridges are removed, take the opportunity to clean the filter housing. Use warm, soapy water and a clean cloth or sponge to wipe both the inside and outside of the housing. Rinse thoroughly with clean water.

  6. Check for Leaks: Inspect all connections and fittings for signs of leaks. Tighten any loose connections using a wrench if necessary.

  7. Reassemble System: Once the housing is clean and the new filter cartridges are installed, reassemble the filter system. Use a wrench to tighten the housing securely.

  8. Turn On The System & Water Supply: Turn the water supply back on by opening the shut-off valve and turn on the power supply as well. Check for any leaks around the filter housing and connections.

  9. Flush System: Run water through the filter system for a 2-5 minutes to flush out any air bubbles and debris. This helps ensure that the system is properly primed and ready for use.

  10. Monitor Performance: After servicing your water filter system, monitor its performance closely. Pay attention to water flow rate, taste, and odor to ensure that the filter is effectively removing impurities from the water.

By following these simple 10 steps, you can effectively service your water filter system and maintain clean, safe drinking water for your home or business.
